Slough Deaf Centre
Client: Slough & District Deaf Centre
Architect: TW2 Architects
Value: £500,000
CIRUS were awarded the contract to construct a new centre for the deaf on a design and build basis. The challenge on this project was that the existing building, a timber frame structure, had been built on made up land. This type of ground strata was not preferable to construct a new masonry building upon. An engineering solution to this problem was found and a concrete raft foundation was constructed to support the footprint of the building. As part of the construction the client also required a hall for social functions and as part of this CIRUS designed and fitted out the bar area in accordance with Fullers Brewery’s requirements.
